Good Parent

It is because you shower them with knowledge
When you worry
Not with your sole fortune
Implying they can have all the gold in the world
Until you have been left with nothing but few pennies

It is because you want to watch them grow
After you are gone completely
Seven feet under
when your flesh melt off of your hollow bone
You want to watch their smiles carry the light on
Into the tunnel you have not yet ventured before

It is because you have pinned places you want to go on the map
Surprise them with their very first passport and their own backpack
In your garden, you teach them how to raise the flag up on the pole
At home, you teach them other tongues

It is because you cannot afford to do mistakes from your youth
It is because you are terrified on what they are about to become
You do not teach them
You educate them...
